What's in my Purse??? - January 2015

For January 2015, I have been using this Steve Madden bag (I unfortunately don't know the name of the bag) and it has been doing a fantastic job of holding everything I need (and don't really need) with me on a daily basis.

I have also been using this small cross body bag that I purchased from a little boutique in Temecula a couple months ago. It holds the little things that I can't live without, like a pen, my wallet, keys, my lipstick from the past week, bobby pins, hair ties, any extra medication (lactaid and aleve), a couple wet wipes, tissues and the occasional lollipop. The stuff that is normally in this bag switches from my bigger purse to my backpack and back to this smaller bag.

For my wallet, which is actually probably my favorite wallet that I have ever owned, it is the Kate Spade Cobble Hill Wristlet. They have changed the design of it a little since I have been the owner of one of these beautiful wristlets. I like to have my keys attached to it so that I can easily find my keys and be able to take one thing in with my if I just want to stop in the grocery store on the way home from school for a minute.
I don't keep much on my keys, but one thing that I will keep on my keys for as long as I live in my pepper spray. Even if I never use it, it's there just in case I ever even start to feel unsafe. I go to a big school with dark parking structures and I work at a fast food restaurant and have been known to get off at midnight. It is a very important thing to always have with me.

To start off with what I keep in my main purse, I basically carry my life with me everywhere I go. So, I obviously carry around my Erin Condren Life planner (If you want to know more about that make sure to check out my previous post) and all of my pens just in case of emergency planning. The case for all of pens and stickers for on the go is actually the e.l.f. essentials signature make-up bag. I actually carry two of these cases simply because they are amazing! They are cheap, spacious and are amazing quality.

Speaking of the best makeup bag/pen case/emergency kit ever. I use the black version of this bag for an emergency kit because it is reasonably small and can fit so many supplies that you use everyday and would have an issue trying to go a day without.

Since I am the clumsiest person I know, as well as, lactose intolerant and asthmatic, I have to carry many things like probiotics, lactaids (I have many different types), my inhaler, many sizes and types of band-aids and for those days (more like everyday) that you spill your coffee on your favorite shirt on your way to work or school, you have to have a Tide to-go pen. I also keep things like fashion tape (for fashion mishaps), nail files and nail clippers (since I get hang nails EVERYDAY), wet wipes, Aleve, more hair ties (I manage to break hair ties on a daily basis), a mirror, hand sanitizer and soap sheets (you do not want to get stuck without soap in a nasty bathroom), a small thing of perfume and some e.l.f. shine erasers.

If you couldn't tell by now, I have a lot of pouches and small bags in my purse to keep myself organized. This next one I got a Ross a couple years ago, so unfortunately once again I have no idea where you can find one like it. However, I can say that is perfect for storing febreze to go (lets just say, smelly situations are NOT something I enjoy, but then again, who does) and my favorite body lotion of all time (at least for right now).

And for my last pouch, it is just this basic make-up bag from Wal-Mart that holds any loose lip products that would normally be all over my bag and a small hair brush for my enormous hair.

Now, for the loose stuff in my purse. I try to limit this to as few things as possible. I just keep more wet wipes in a plastic bag ( just to let you know, they don't work well when they are dried out), cough drops (these ones actually taste somewhat good), an extra phone charger since my phone seems to die at the worst times possible and the cutest package of tissues ever.

Last but not least, in the side pockets of the bag, I like to keep things like my spare car key (hoping that if I ever manage to lock myself out of my car that I have my purse with me), a purse hook (for gross floors), a couple extra pens and pencils, extra bobby pins, another travel perfume and my check book (that I have never used, but my mom insists I need to have it with me). In the very front pocket of the larger purse I keep about a hundred pens.

As you can see, this bag may be huge and carry a TON of stuff, but to me, this stuff is all necessary. I'm always that person that has everything for everyone. I'm ok with that though. I would have something unnecessary with me than be stuck in a bad situation. Now if you don't think that I don't carry enough stuff with me on a daily basis, let me know if I am missing something crucial!

Erin Condren Life Planner Love...

After patiently waiting for my ECLP to arrive, it finally arrived on January 2nd, 2015!!! The wait has definitely been worth it! I'M IN LOVE! I opted for the 12-month life planner considering it didn't even get ordered until December 22nd, 2014, I think it would be pretty useless to order the 18-month life planner. I decided on the "sequins" cover and because the cover are now interchangeable and I have recently become addicted to Erin Condren products, I have already ordered another cover and am in the process of ordering more.

I definitely debated if it was worth the $50-$70 for a planner (plus $7.95+ shipping), especially because I work in fast food and am a poor college student. So my sister and I ordered each others planners (that's one way to avoid guilt). It has definitely been worth the money and will more than likely be ordering again next year. The set up for the weekly pages is perfect for me with the morning/day/night titles and make it easier for me to make a to-do list for the whole day instead of being overwhelmed by all of the stuff I have to do throughout the day. Sometimes I even find myself writing in tasks I have already done so I can cross more stuff off and feel more accomplished at the end of the day (I know i'm lame).

I have been using the lines at the bottom of the weekly pages for what I had for dinner. I am thinking of using that space for something different since I have started a separate health journal.

The monthly view is spacious enough for me to put appointments, major events (rarely anything) and my work schedule in the boxes with room to spare. Every monthly spread has an inspiring quotes at the top and a beautiful color scheme that changes every month making it fun to put not-so-fun things like doctors appointments in your planner. The ECLP has a place for notes and to-dos on all weekly and monthly pages, which is where I like to put my weekly/monthly cleaning.

For bigger lists or more important information like school schedules, doctor info., goals for the year, monthly/weekly/daily cleaning lists and passwords there are multiple lined pages and blank pages at the end of the planner.

I have found that color coding helps make it more fun to write in your planner. The only reason I like writing my work schedule every week is because I finally get to use my pink pen! It's the little things right?

If you are the type of person who likes to include your friends and families birthdays, included in the back of the ECLP is A TON of birthday stickers, as well as, a page that has stickers for appointments, vacations, games, days off, parties, as well as, mani/pedi stickers. They also include 2 full pages of blank stickers. Plus, they are reposition-able this year!

If you have ever looked up Erin Condren Life Planner's on other blogs or Pinterest, chances are you have learned all you could possibly know about washi tape and every kind of sticker known to man. I enjoy decorating my planner for special occasions like Christmas and my birthday. Although, for a weekly basis, it is a little bit too much for me. It seems somewhat less functional when you have 15 owl stickers on one weekly spread. I tend to decorate empty boxes once the day is over, making it both cute and functional. I have found that the sticker printables from http://mswenduhh.blogspot.com are both amazing and functional, and the best part, most of the to-do printables are fitted perfectly for the ECLP boxes (she even shows you how to make them into stickers). I tend to use functional stickers more due to the fact that I don't think I have the whole "planner decorating" thing quite down.

If you are the type of person who want to decorate their planner, or you're not, the Erin Condren Life Planner can change your productivity immensely (mostly because it's the prettiest planner I have ever purchased in my whole 18 years of life).

Included with the "Classic" ECLP's, you get various gift tags, personalized labels to match your original cover, "Let's Get Together" cards, forget-me-not perpetual calendar, the new clear bookmark, as well as, a couple coupons for your next purchase. I have purchased the "Keep It Together" bands and the pen holder separately. I would high recommend the bands if you are going to carry it around with you. The pen holder would be more useful for someone who sticks to one color pen (unlike me who has to use about 15-20 different pens), but for now it is good for grocery shopping.

My only complaints on the Erin Condren Life Planner are:
1. THE SHIPPING TAKES FOREVER!!!
2. Bubbles seem to form on both the front and back covers easily. (They offered me a reprint or $10.95 credit for the inconvenience)
3. I feel like I rotate the coil a lot.

If you would like to order your own Erin Condren Life Planner, you can use my referral link where you will get $10 off your first purchase and I will get a $10 credit once the referral link is used (a coupon code will be sent to your email and can take up to a couple of hours to be sent).

2014....

2014 was a year to remember. 2014 was filled with laughter, friends, family and the best memories.

February 6, 2014, most of my choir friends and I headed to NAU and experienced the fun of snow (something that most southern Californians aren't used to or don't like (me)).

Yes, they did put a chest on the snow woman(?). And Mom, I had no part in this other than being a photographer.

While at NAU, we had the opportunity to perform at 7am in the JazzMad Festival on February 7th. It was one of the best experiences I had ever had. We got to perform in a huge concert hall! It was very exciting even though the only seats that were full were the judges seats.

Me, Kim, David and Rob (in the back) getting ready to perform

Being in more than one choir, I performed more than once that day as did many of the other girls. Half of the people on the trip were performing in the Jazz portion of festival and most of the girls performed in Madrigal (the super old music that would be performed for the king) portion of the festival.

For the madrigal portion we wore these giant madrigal dresses in which most of us wore hoop skirts. Just so you know, hoop skirts don't work well with 15 passenger vans #thestruggleisreal. Although I was not a fan. It was definitely an experience I will never forget.

That night we all went to Olive Garden and partied because we were done performing for the day and we got to go play in the snow more and go to one of the most unbelievable concert I have ever been to that night.

We all got to go to a performance by The Real Group. Unless you have ever been in choir or musical theatre or even band, you might not understand why this concert was so amazing. They are some of the best a cappella artists (in my opinion). Mostly because they summed up the 90's in the best medley possible.

That trip will be something that I will remember for a long time (mostly because I actually had fun in the snow).

February 13th, 2014, my high school choir put on our annual benefit concert. It was one of the first times I performed in duet and was actually happy with the way we performed afterwards. It was also one of the nights where taking selfies in a choir dress is socially acceptable.

March 22nd, 2014, my grandma, dad and myself went kayaking again. Although we own kayaks and live thirty minutes away from the beach, we very rarely go kayaking. However, visiting the sea lions is always the first thing that needs to be done once you get on the water. It is something that so few people actually do and something that is and will always be a tradition. Mostly because I refuse to go kayaking unless I get to see the sea lions.

April 3rd, 2014, my choir friends and I were once again on the road headed to Anaheim to perform and of course, go to Disneyland (personally, I think it should be a rule to go to Disneyland if you are in Anaheim).  The best part about this trip was not only going to Disneyland, but going to Disneyland with some of my favorite people. If you don't think Disneyland is truly the happiest place on earth, you have either never been to Disneyland or you have something seriously wrong with you.

April 4th, 2014, we performed in one of the most beautiful concert halls. Although we didn't perform as well as we had hoped, we did get to record a song with 700 other singers for Z. Randall Stroope. If you don't know who that is, you should probably look him up considering he's one of the biggest composers out there. And once again, choir gave me another unforgettable experience.

April 14th, 2014, I got photobombed by a horse at Rachel's birthday party.

April 17th, 2014, as well, as many other days my family and I visited SeaWorld and obviously had the best time on Journey to Atlantis.

April 18th, 2014, I started the process of becoming an actual adult by taking my first set of senior pictures. I had three different photoshoots for senior pictures. I'm pretty sure that's not normal. Photo credit: my aunt

May 3rd, 2014, my parents and I headed to Yuma, Arizona in preparation of me getting a license. I got to get on and off every freeway exit to practice my merging skills. It sounds really boring (and it is) but, there are a couple good things about it. First, I did get my license soon after and can properly get onto a freeway. Second, there is really good food close to the California/Arizona/Mexico border. Third, we got to visit the Yuma Territorial Prison Museum. I definitely don't plan on going to prison after seeing it.

May 22nd, 2014, we had our choir banquet and awards ceremony. I was so honored to first of all get a trophy and second to get "Director's Choice." I also received a certificate with my best choir friends that reads "you made those Disney Princesses look bad." And to be completely honest, I think thats what I was more excited about.

May 31st, 2014, PROM!!!! How could prom already be here? Wasn't the first day of freshman year like yesterday? Although prom was an absolute bust, In-n-Out afterwards with my best friend was not. Can I just say that my mom made my prom dress because I am way to picky to buy one? And yes, I did wear silver glitter Vans for my prom shoes.

June 17th, 2014, the day before graduation and the day before I had to leave all of my younger friends behind. This was such a fun day because first, I had one class that day and second, I had it with my best friends. I came very close to crying that day. I had performed with most of the people in the choir for at least three years of high school. Let's just say I was not ready to leave them behind.

June 18th, 2014, Graduation and my 18th birthday!!! Yes, I did graduated high school on my 18th birthday! And something even better about that day is that it is also my mother's birthday and she graduated high school on her 18th birthday from the same high school exactly 27 years before I did. It was also the last day I got to perform with the senior choir members and again, came close to crying many times that day.

June 25th, 2014, I finally got my license!

The week of July 17th, 2014, I got to be apart of the 2014 Summer Choral Intensive at USD with Sacra/Profana. Although it was a lot of effort and hard work, I was an experience that not only helped me pick a major for college, but also prepared me for the hard work that would be necessary for being successful in college. Plus, we got to perform and rehearse in two different beautiful cathedrals.

August 11th and 12th, 2014, my sister and I headed to Disneyland for another unforgettable experience! We got to meet Rapunzel (because how could you not?), became besties with Ferb from Phineas and Ferb, got compared to Anna and Elsa by none other that Anna and Elsa themselves, as well as, Rapunzel and Ariel, and made wishes in Snow White's well. I can not repeat CAN NOT wait to go again in 2015!

August 18th, 2014, I started my first semester of COLLEGE! Like what? I have be a real adult now? I have to actually think about what I want to do for the rest of my life? Although as of now I prefer the college school schedule (3 days a week instead of 5 days), I am one of those people who misses their high school friends.

December 18th, 2014, I finally got my braces off! I had my braces on for 9 years. So half my life, 2 years off elementary school, all 3 years of middle school and all of 4 years of high school and my first semester of college! It's the probably the biggest milestone for me after graduating high school!

December 24th and 25th, 2014, CHRISTMAS!!!! My entire family always makes it priority to spend as much as time together as possible. And not only on Christmas and major holidays. However, Christmas and New Year's are always seem to be the most fun!

2014 was filled with so many unforgettable and unbelieveable experiences, I am so excited to see what 2015 holds!!!
